Prisoner of Lies

About three months ago I met a man over the internet who was a self-professed Satanist. Through our correspondence, the young man revealed that he was completely satisfied with his involvement in the occult since Satanic philosophy allows the individual to do whatever they please with no guilt. The young man also said that Christianity placed too many restrictions on the individual.

Surprisingly, I understood this man's logic. I didn't agree with it, but I understood where he was coming from. After all, Christianity does compel one to recognize both evil and good. When this occurs, wanting to do what is pleasing to God, one attempts to seek out "good" while abandoning "evil."

According to Satanic dictate, there is no right or wrong, good or evil. All that matters is the "self" and fulfilling the desires of the self. As such, there is no regard for fellow man, nor for consequences and the big picture.

Rejecting God and His word places greater restrictions on the individual than any godly religion could ever do. Those who shun God are restricted from having a relationship with the Almighty, from partaking of the spiritual gifts such a relationship provides, and most importantly, rejecting God restricts one from God's saving grace. One is then condemned to a spiritual prison apart from God.

"If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life,
he was thrown into the lake of fire." (Revelation 20:15)

Satan is a deceiver. Just as he deceived Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, his purpose is to hide the light and truth of God's word so that we may not partake of the eternal life that only God can provide. He will fool us into believing that we can be satisfied apart from Christ. This is a lie.

"The god of this age (Satan) has blinded the mind of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." (II Corinthians 4:4)

Don't allow yourself to be imprisoned apart from Christ.
